Kabul Spirit in Water Colour

In 2009 Yar M. Taraky has left his job at Stantec Consulting Ltd. and as the Director of  ICAA in Canada and went to Afghanistan. He started a stressful journey of reform work along with other Afghan ex-pats and international consultants. This journey was also associated with a strong emphasis on cultural contribution and civil society awakening.

In 2010 Yar Taraky decided to portray the historic and traditional Kabul. The \reason behind the This included around 100 watercolour paintings that show Kabul historic places, marketplaces and cityscape. This album is being published as a catalogue. Many international visitors, military men and women and diplomats have shown interest in this catalogue.

The reason behind the decision was the careless construction of commercial buildings in Kabul that destroyed partially or in full parts of a traditional lifestyle, community living and in some cases historical monuments.

The series will be exhibited worldwide and the catalogue will be for sale in the bookstores.
