Statement
The current age of information and digital arts is a new beginning for visual arts. Art is now the primary tool in education, community development and empowerment. It has gone beyond being a decorative media.
As art intersects with research, natural sciences and social sciences, Yar Taraky sees this as an opportunity for the natural and social sciences to have the skills in their possession and to benefit from arts to populate new ideas and findings.
Yar Mohammad Taraky is an artist, a scientist and a thinker who sees the world through the sharp lenses of science, the colourful lenses of art and the right lenses of philanthropy.
He loves science because it is impartial, accurate and real, Yar loves art, because it is colourful and imaginary. Beyond all this, Yar loves art because it fed him and his family through hardships and unpleasant times.
Yar Taraky painted portraits on the streets of Kabul, Moscow, Warsaw, Toronto and Hamilton. He received commissions worth only a few dollars and also a few thousands of dollars. Yar Taraky volunteered for many organizations and community groups; he gave his time to community education through art. Yar Taraky devoted his life to art education and research of new art forms.
Yar Taraky is expressing the outer and inner environment with his vision of art as harmony between opposites, whether these opposites are colours, contrasts or objects. If there are no significant colours, contrasts and objects, Yar will create some to reach harmony in the painting. He brings geometric symbols to outline movement elements in his realistic paintings to make them more dynamic and meaningful.
The uniqueness of Yar Taraky paintings is its optimistic themes and scenarios in the traditional music and celebration manner. His art is a reasonable tool for community empowerment and education through visual symbols and actions. Yar Taraky says, “I believe that multidisciplinary art forms have therapeutic elements and enable true freedom in expressions.”
Yar Taraky believes in intensive studio art and learning the technical basics of visual art as a trade. He is dedicated to research and teaching of art as a contemporary and empowering medium.
Yar will bring new concepts and contribute to cross-disciplinary connections with other art forms.
